Cutters drop second straight

The Crosscutters droped their second straight game in as many nights as they fell to the Connecticut Tigers 6-4, on Thursday night.

Starting pitcher Mitch Gueller only lasted 3 2/3 innings giving up four runs on five hits. Gueller fell to 3-1.

Gueller’s defense didn’t help him out as the Cutters had three errors.

Designated hitter Andrew Knapp and right fielder Dylan Cozens each had solid nights at the plate. Knapp went 3 for 4 with 2 doubles and a RBI and Cozens would finish 2 for 5 with a run and a RBI.

Heading into the ninth inning the Cutters faced a 6-2 deficit but they made it interesting. Logan Pierce and Gustavo Martinez each reached on by walks and then Andrew Pullin doubled home each. But then Cozens struck out, ending the threat and the game.

The Cutters (13-10) will try to avoid a 3-game sweep as the series ends tonight.
