Cutters finish sweep on road

The Williamsport Crosscutters completed a three-game sweep at the Mahoning Valley Scrappers with a 6-2 win Saturday night. The Cutters pounded out 12 hits.

Jiandido Tromp went 3 for 4 with 3 RBI in support of Mitch Gueller (3-0), who earned the win.

Gueller allowed two runs and seven hits in six innings while striking out three. Kelvi Rojas and Felix Santos pitched shutout relief after Gueller left ahead 3-2.

Logan Pierce extended his hit streak to seven games with a 3 for 4 night.

Tromp singled home Pierce and Samuel Hiciano in the eighth inning and Gabriel Lino singled home Jairo Cardozo in the ninth.

The Cutters begin a three-game set tonight vs. Auburn at Bowman Field.
