Montoursville 10-11 Baseball reaches state title game

The Montoursville 10-11 Baseball team advanced to today’s state championship game after a 13-2 victory over Lionville on Wednesday in Mansfield.

Montoursville, the District 12 and Section 3 champions, scored five runs each in the first and second innings on its way to ending the game in four innings via the 10-run mercy rule.

Montoursville finished with 14 hits, including two each by Cameron Wood, CJ Signor and Hunter Shearer. Shearer and Mason Sechrist hit home runs for the winner.

Montoursville will play Morrisville in tonight’s championship game at 5 in Mansfield. Morrisville, the District 21 and Section 8 champs, defeated West Point, 20-2. Both Morrisville and Mon-toursville each lost a game in pool play, but defeated undefeated teams on Wednesday.
