Football roundup: Canton rallies at Wyalusing

Jesse Lattimer caught a 67-yard touchdown from John Bowman in the final 3 minutes as Canton rallied past Wyalusing on the road, 29-28 Friday night. Bowman also hit Tyler Cole for a touchdown as part of a 15-point fourth quarter.

Cole converted the go-ahead 2-pointer.

Bloomsburg 57, Montgomery 12

At Bloomsburg, Kyle Becher and Tyler Betz scored for the Red Raiders, though they dropped to 0-5. Betz led Montgomery with 78 yards on 18 carries.

Zach Shade was 4-for-8 passing for 12 yards for Montgomery, which entered the game with just one passing yard through four games.

Lewisburg 32, Shamokin 6

At Shamokin, Lewisburg improved to 4-1 by beating winless Shamokin after a 19-point third quarter. Drew Newcomb rushed 3 times for 89 yards and two second-half touchdowns.

Nick Costigliola also had two second-half touchdown passes for Lewisburg.

Sayre 28, Cowanesque Valley 14

At Westfield, Brandon Whitesell rushed for 104 yards and two scores on 24 carries in defeat as Cowanesque Valley lost to Sayre.

A 25-yard run by Jeremy Kyc set up James Harbst’s 3-yard touchdown run to put Sayre up by two scores at the end.
