Roundup: Muncy girls beat Sullivan, Neumann boys top South

Carley DeVore scored her 40th career goal and Muncy topped Sullivan County 4-0, Saturday in girls soccer.

Anna Steer scored twice and South Williamsport held Jersey Shore to 4 shots in a 2-0 victory.

Erica Ludwikowski scored twice with two assists in Williamsport’s 6-0 victory over Hazleton.

Sarah Ingerick and Brynn Ripley each scored a goal for Wellsboro but they fell in double overtime 3-2 to Sayre.

Madison Paige of Bellefonte scored the only goal on a penalty kick in a 1-0 win over Warrior Run. Nicole Peggs got the shutout for Bellefonte.

In boys soccer, Noah and Isaac Beiter scored as St. John Neumann beat South Williamsport, 2-0.

Pau Gabernet scored a goal in the 11th minute to give Montoursville a 1-0 win over Milton. Sawyer Bressler got the shutout in goal.

Montgomery narrowly beat Benton 1-0, after Jacob Umpstead scored the game’s only goal just one minute into the contest.

Ian Hufnagel and Jim Trevoulities scored as Hughesville beat Mifflinburg, 2-0.

Muncy improved its record to 5-4 after defeating Sullivan County, 2-0.

Wellsboro topped Liberty 3-1, handing the Mounties’ their sixth loss of the season.

Evan Jenkins netted two goals and Jacob Butzler added a goal and an assist in Jersey Shore’s 4-0 win over Meadowbrook Christian.

In high school cross country, South Williamsport’s Griffin Molino won the NEPA Invite at Bloomsburg University. Molino, who finished second earlier this season at the Spike Shoe Invitational in State College, finished the course at Bloomsburg University in 16 minutes, 13 seconds.

In field hockey, No. 2 Millersville rolled past visiting Mansfield 4-0. Mansfield (3-5, 0-2 PSAC) held the nationally-ranked program scoreless over the first 30 minutes of the game, but surrendered four goals over the last 60 minutes.

Lydia George scored and Elaina White made nine saves as Lock Haven field hockey team shut out visiting Rider 1-0.

In women’s soccer, Danielle Lentz and Karyn Anselmo each scored goals in the second half to push Mansfield past Clarion 2-1. The Mounties are unbeaten in their last four outings.

Emily Truett scored her first goal of the season in the second minute for Lycoming in a 7-1 loss to FDU-Florham.

Lock Haven was edged 2-0 at home to Edinboro.

Freshman Devon Suhadolnik scored the overtime winner in the 94th minute to lift Penn College past Chatham.

In men’s soccer, Christopher Brenna, Luke McFalls and Ryan Miller each recorded two goals as Penn College beat PSU?Mont Alto, 10-0.

Keith Grafmeyer and Jeff Greblick each scored a goal as Rochester defeated Lycoming 2-0. The loss ended Lycoming’s 6 straight unbeaten streak.

In women’s tennis, Melissa Stabley won a three set nail-biter at first singles to clinch a victory over Penn State Brandywine for Penn College.

In women’s volleyball, Courtney Gernert was named to the Lycoming College Class All-Tournament Team as the Penn College women’s volleyball team finished day two of the tournament 0-2. The Lady Wildcats lost 3-0 to both Ithaca College and host Lycoming.

Lock Haven dropped its first match 3-2 to IUP and its second match 3-1 to Seton Hill. Danielle Weaver had a combined 6 service aces and Cody Anderson added a combined 28 kills.

In cross country, Daniel Flynn placed fifth helping the Penn College to a third place finish at the Penn State Wilkes Barre Invitational.

Lycoming competed at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational at Big Spring High School. Sophomore Anna Summers led the women’s squad and freshman Jacob Miller led the men.
