No. 22 Bloom beats LHU with final bout

Lock Haven won four bouts, including a pin and a major decision, but it wasn’t enough as No. 22 Bloomsburg slipped by the Bald Eagles, 19-16 Thursday night.

The Bald Eagles (2-4) won four of 10 bouts and picked up bonus points in a pair of matches, but fell to 0-2 in the Eastern Wrestling League.

The match was tied 16-16 heading into the night’s final bout and No. 19 Justin Grant sealed the team victory for Bloomsburg (3-2) by beating Cody Mason, 4-2. Grant led 2-1 after one period after getting a takedown. In the second period, Grant started down and escaped to lead 3-1 after two. Mason started down in the third and escaped with 30 seconds left, but Grant got the bonus point for riding time and won, 4-2.

No. 20 Dan Neff, Mac Maldarelli, Jake Kemerer, and No. 15 Fred Garcia all won for Lock Haven.
