Cutters drop 2nd in a row

For the second straight night, the Williamsport Cross- cutters gave up an early lead and lost to the Auburn Doubledays, 5-3.

Williamsport starter Feliberto Sanchez gave up eight hits and five runs in the first 2 1/3 innings but Delvi Francisco and Frank Rivas pitched 5 2/3 innings of combined one-hit ball out of the bullpen while striking out eight.

After falling behind 1-0 early, Wilmer Oberto scored on a passed ball to tie it and Deivi Grullon singled home Herlis Rodriguez to give the Cutters a 2-1 lead. But Williamsport gave up the lead in the bottom of the second on a Austin Davidson RBI single and a two-run double by Raudy Read.

Williamsport would get another run in the third on an Oberto RBI single but the Doubledays added another run in the third to make it 5-3.
