Cutters end road trip with a victory
The Williamsport Crosscutters salvaged the last of a four-game road trip with an 8-5 win Monday night at the Jamestown Jammers.
Alejandro Arteaga had his best outing with the team, pitching into the seventh inning, allowing two runs and eight hits. He struck out two and walked one.
Offensively, Cord Sandberg extended his hitting streak to 11 by leading off with a single and Aaron Brown hit his first professional home run in the third inning.
No. 2 hitt er Jiandido Tromp was 3-for-5, and the Nos. 6-9 hitters all had at least two hits for the Cutters. Jan Hernandez was 3-for-4 and scored twice, while Deivi Grullon, Robinson Torres, and Emmanuel Marrero all had two hits apiece.
Ahead 8-2, Cutters reliever Elniery Garcia allowed 3 runs in the bottom of the eighth.
The Crosscutters return home tonight at Bowman Field to play Auburn.
