Hope Enterprises tournament a qualifier for TPC Sawgrass

Last year, the annual Hope Enterprises Golf Tournament at White Deer broke an attendance record with more than 250 golfers competing in the 20th anniversary of the event, growing it by more than 30 percent from the previous year.

Now in its 21st year, the tournament aspires to keep expanding, when it is hosted again at the White Deer golf courses in Montgomery on Friday, June 20.

The enlargement of the tournament was greatly beneficial for Hope Enterprises, a non-profit organization that provides a wide-ranging variety of services to children and adults with disabilities in seven counties across Pennsylvania, that uses the golf tournament as its primary fundraiser.

More than $250,000 has been raised for Hope since the tournament’s inaugural year.

The event has been sponsored Liberty Mutual for the last four years; and gained a lot of prestige last year, when it became a part of the Liberty Mutual Invitational, a nationwide series of amateur charity golf tournaments.

As a part of the Liberty Mutual Invitational, the tournament has offered fantastic grand prizes for those golfers playing the Challenge Course. Last year, 18 teams competed for a chance to play in the Liberty Mutual National Finals at Pinehurst, the site of this week’s U.S. Open.

The top prize for foursomes competing on the Challenge Course in this year’s tournament will once again be a chance to qualify for the Liberty Mutual National Finals, which will be held TPC?Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., where the Players Championship is held every May.

Foursomes interested in the Challenge Course qualifier must have a handicap total of 43 or more, with one player at 8 or lower, which will be verified with Golf Handicap and Information Network numbers. Teams without GHIN numbers are required to bring three score cards to registration.
