Four competitive spirit teams off to states

Four area competitive spirit teams are headed to the state tournament after Saturday’s District 4 competition. Advancing from the area are Montoursville, Hughesville, Milton and Warrior Run. Southern Columbia is also going to the state tournament.

Southern Columbia took first place in the small varsity division while Hughesville placed second. Milton placed first in the large varsity division with Montoursville earning second and Warrior Run was first-place in the co-ed division.

Milton defeated Montoursville by a one-point margin, 199-198, in the large varsity division with Shamokin finishing third (170).

Williamsport placed second in the co-ed division with 166 points and Canton was third with 146.5.

Small varsity division: Southern Columbia, 1st, 214 points; Hughesville, 2nd, 170.5; CMVT, 3rd, 163; Troy, 4th, 135.5.

Large varsity division: Milton, 1st, 199 points; Montoursville, 2nd, 198; Shamokin, 3rd, 170.

Co-ed division: Warrior Run, 1st, 196.5 points; Williamsport, 2nd, 166; Canton, 3rd, 146.5.
