Local roundup: Loyalsock, Montour, Lewisburg girls among winnners

Megan Weber led all scorers with 19 points, but South Wil­liamsport fell 49-44 at Loyalsock, Friday in girls basketball. Char­lotte Neylon led Loyalsock with 10 points.

Lauren O’Malley scored 22 points as Montoursville pulled away from Central Columbia, 45-32.

Megan O’Hara scored nine points and added 10 rebounds, and Grace Kelleher scored 11 points as Lewisburg beat Milton, 40-36. Lewisburg broke open 4-3 game with an 18-point second quarter.

Shayna McNamee paced St. John Neumann girls over Montgomery 54-35, with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists,  Saige Whipple led the Red Raiders with 10 points.

Hannah Kauffman led Jersey Shore over Central Mountain, 44-25.  Kauffman had a game-high 21 points. Autumn Young scored 11 for CM.

Northern Potter hit the game winner to beat Galeton 45 to 43. Olivia Pagano and Cortney Parsell both scored 14 for Galeton in a 45-43 loss to Northern Potter.

• In boys basketball, Brandyn Tuttle recorded a double double as Wellsboro beat Cowanesque Valley, 72-28. Tuttle had 11 points and 10 rebounds for the Hornets, and Quinn Henry finished with 10 points.

Danville held a five-point lead at halftime and held on in the second half for a 51-46 win over Loyalsock. Mike LaPoint led the Lancers with 12 points and was the only Loyalsock player in double figures.

Brock Burleigh scored 26 points with 8 rebounds and Shane Kelly scored 13 with 12 rebounds as Mansfield beat Sayre, 52-38.

In indoor track, Dante Wright won two events, highlighting a strong showing by Williamsport at the State College High School Invitational. Wright won the 60-meter dash in 6.94 seconds and the 200-meters in 23.44 seconds. Jared Thompson and Keith Jason also won events. Thompson won the 400-meters in 52.24 seconds and Jason won the triple jump with a leap of 42 feet, 5 inches.
