Penn College basketball teams coming off 1-5 week

Over the last week, Pennsylvania College of Technology basketball teams sported a combined 1-5 record, all in North Eastern Athletic Conference games.

MEN’S BASKETBALL

Squaring off at home against Gallaudet University last Sunday afternoon, Penn College lost, 82-63. Erik Eichinger led the Wildcats with 12 points. Penn College was outscored in the paint, 56-26.

On Wednesday at home in NEAC action against Penn State Abington, Penn College fell, 82-70. Marquis Delgado led Penn College with 21 points and Thomas Ross added 16.

Four free throws in the final 50 seconds lifted St. Elizabeth to an 85-83 win Saturday in NEAC action at Penn College. The loss dropped the Wildcats to 5-11 overall and 3-8 in the conference. Eichinger led Penn College scorers with 25 points while Ben Sosa added 18.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL

With a 68-59 home win over Gallaudet University last Sunday, Penn College won consecutive games for the first time since the end of the 2014-15 season. Alicia Ross ripped the cords for 28 points while Gwendolyn Lavelle added 16 points and Jane Herman 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Hosting Penn State Abington on Wednesday in conference play, the Wildcats lost, 66-50. Ross led Penn College with 25 points.

At home on Saturday against St. Elizabeth, Ross scored 23 points and had 16 rebounds for Penn College in its 85-63 loss. Ross moved within 36 points of tying the Penn College women’s career scoring mark of 1,422 points as the Wildcats fell to 3-12 overall and 3-8 in the NEAC. In her last four games, Ross is averaging 25.5 points per game.
