Lyco men draw Cabrini in NCAAs

Already with a school-record 23 wins, the Lycoming College men’s basketball team will continue its season in the NCAA Division III Championship this weekend, heading to Middlebury in Vermont for the first and second rounds on Friday and Saturday, March 3-4. The Warriors will open the tournament on Friday, March 3, at 5:30 against Cabrini College.

On Saturday, the winner gets the winner of the first round game on Friday at Middlebury between the homestanding Panthers and Farmingdale State.

The Warriors (23-4) secured an automatic bid to the tournament by virtue of winning its second straight MAC Commonwealth title on Saturday in a 76-62 win over Albright. Senior Nyk King was named the MAC Commonwealth Championship MVP after averaging 14.5 points, six rebounds and 4.5 assists per game during the two-game tournament.

Cabrini (19-7 ) earned an at-large bid out of the Colonial States Athletic Conference after losing in the conference semifinals on a buzzer-beater to Gwynedd Mercy, 73-71.
