PC baseball sports 2-1 week, 11 events wiped out

During a week in which there were more postponements than there was play for Pennsylvania College of Technology spring sports teams, the sun shone, figuratively, on the baseball team which went 2-1. Eleven other events were washed out.

BASEBALL

Stepping up at NCAA Division II Mansfield University in non-conference play on Wednesday, Penn College lost, 8-4. Evan Vigna hit a two-run home run in the second inning for the Wildcats, and had an RBI double in the sixth. Brittan Kittle also had two hits for Penn College, including a double.

Seeing North Eastern Athletic Conference play for the first time this season on Saturday at Wells College, the Wildcats took both games, by scores of 10-3 and 9-3, to improve to 10-5 overall and 2-0 in the conference.

In the first game, Kittle had two doubles in three at-bats and ended with four runs batted in. Eli Warren went 3 for 4 and scored three times. Pitcher Devon Sanders went 5 1/3 innings in relief and improved to 2-0.

In the second game, Ben Flicker had two hits, including a double, and drove in three runs while starting pitcher Max Bair went five innings and improved to 2-1.
