Cutters stumble

Cutters starting pitcher Kyle Young delivered yet another strong performance, tossing five scoreless innings as the Cross­cutters fell 2-1 Thursday at Mahoning Valley.

Young struck out six. He allowed three hits, of which, only one left the infield, in a no-decision. He has 17 strikeouts over 10 innings against Mahoning Valley this season.

Austin Listi entered for an injured Colby Fitch in the top of the sixth, hitting his third home run to lead off the top of the ninth.

Mahoning Valley scored both runs in the bottom of the eight inning against Damon Jones, who took his second loss.

Williamsport tied a season-high by drawing five walks, but stranded seven.
