Yoder, Lutz both earn wins at Clinton County

MILL HALL – Andrew Yoder scored his second limited late win at Clinton County Motor Speedway on Friday night in the 25-lap feature, while Scott Lutz picked up the win in the sprints in the 20-lap main event. There were first-time ever winners in the pro-stocks with Al Rishel of Jersey Shore getting the 15-lap win and Tim Raup of Danville in the FWD four cylinders which was 12-laps. Troy Whitesel of Selinsgrove picked up the 15-lap micro-sprint feature win.

Mike Smith of Renovo grabbed the lead from the start of the limited late model feature on Friday night at CCMS, and looked to headed to his first feature win of the season. Then a caution with four laps to go changed all of that, as Yoder made an inside pass coming off the fourth turn coming for the white flag to steal the win away from Smith who had to settle for second.

“If that last caution would have not come out I would not have caught him, he had this one for sure,” Yoder said. “He had the top of the track and I had to stay on the bottom. He had the momentum and I could not run him down, but I got lucky and we had that caution, and it looked like he burned his tires off.”

In the IMCA sprint car feature Lutz was sitting in third spot, a position he grabbed on the ninth lap. Lutz led the final three laps for his first CCMS win for the season.

“I was sitting there thinking ‘OK, I am placing third tonight’ and then they got together and that was that, and we are standing here in victory lane,” said Lutz.
