Pickett’s homer leads Cutters offensive outburst in win

Greg Pickett’s first inning home run helped pace the Williamsport offense in its 8-3 win over West Virginia.

Pickett finished 2 for 4 with his sixth home run and his 22nd RBI of the season. Yahir Gurrola, Malvin Matos and Nerluis Martinez each collected a pair of doubles as the Crosscutters collected seven doubles, to give them 122 on the season, which is tied for the most in the New York-Penn League.

Eight of the Cutters’ nine starters had a hit as the they pounded out 15 hits. The most hots they have had in a game since collecting 16 hits against Auburn on Aug. 29.
