Rosso on mound helps Cutters win

The Williamsport Crosscutters’ Ramon Rosso threw six shutout innings as the Crosscutters handed the Muckdogs a 3-1 loss, giving Rosso his first win in a Cutters uniform.

Rosso finished the night allowing just two hits without walking a batter and striking out eight. The six innings matched his season-high with Williamsport as the eight strikeouts were the most he has had in a Cutters uniform.

Cononr Brogdon threw three innings, allowing just one run on one hit: a solo home rune in the top of the ninth.

Nick Maton finished the night 2 for 4 with an RBI double, giving him his 13th RBI and eighth double of the season. Josh Stephen picked up his 27th RBI of the season with a sacrifice fly. Jake Scheiner recorded his 17th RBI a double.

Yahir Gurrola (2 for 4), Malvin Matos (2 for 3) and Rodolfo Duran (2 for 3) each joined Maton with multi-hit games as the Crosscutters pounded out 10 hits in their final home game of the season.

The Crosscutters finished their home schedule with a 22-16 record, giving them three straight seasons with 20 or more wins at home.
