Local roundup: Start times flipped for some Lyco basketball games

The Lycoming College basketball team’s MAC Commonwealth doubleheaders will feature the men playing in the first game and the women playing the second for the first half of the conference season, starting with the doubleheader with Messiah tonight, slated to start at 6 p.m. in Lamade Gym.

The change was made at the conference level as an equity issue before the start of the 2017-18 season. The Warrior men will also kick off doubleheaders in Lamade Gym with Widener (Dec. 9), Stevenson (Jan. 6) and Albright (Jan. 10) before the women kick off doubleheaders with Hood (Jan. 20), Alvernia (Jan. 31), Arcadia (Feb. 3) and Lebanon Valley (Feb. 13).

• In women’s soccer, Bucknell senior forward Kendall Ham, the second-leading goal-scorer in Bucknell history who led the team to Patriot League titles in each of the last two seasons, was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region Third Team. This is Ham’s third straight All-Region selection.
