Golf tip of the week: Coil against the right leg for power

Push the right knee toward the left to maintain the brace.

The right leg (or the left leg for the left-hander) supports the energy created by the upper body on the backswing, similar to a brace.

The weight should remain on the inside of the right foot, similar to a baseball pitcher winding up to throw a pitch.

Maintaining pressure on the instep will also aid in preventing the dreaded fat shot, (hitting behind the ball).

Before starting the backswing, push the right toward the left knee to the keep the weight on the inside of the right foot.
