• In college football, Penn State football has lost a pair of backup players who plan to transfer.

Running back Andre Robinson and kicker Alex Barbir are no longer with the program and have been granted a release from their scholarships, according to published reports.

Robinson was a redshirt sophomore this season but saw little playing time, getting only nine carries for 55 yards and one TD. He was a three-star recruit out of Bishop McDevitt High School.

Barbir, a redshirt freshman, was a three-star recruit from Georgia. He served as the backup to Tyler Davis on kickoffs this season and made six kicks.

• In college wrestling, Lock Haven returned to the national rankings at No. 24 in this week’s USA Today/NWCA Division I Coaches poll.

The Bald Eagles are coming off their upset-win over Rutgers last Friday and it marks the first time since 2002 LHU was ranked.

Three LHU wrestlers will also listed in the latest individual InterMat rankings. Two-time NCAA Division I qualifier Ronnie Perry is ranked No. 13 at 149, undefeated Chance Marsteller is listed No. 8 at 165 and Haines, an NCAA qualifier last season, is ranked No. 13 at 285.
