Local roundup: Shadle scores 1,000th point

Makaya Shadle reached the 1,000-point milestone in Galeton’s loss to Coudersport, 78-35, on Friday in girls basketball.

Shadle scored 14 points to reach 1,000. Haylee Ludington had 10 points for the Tigers.

Tory Self scored game-high 26 points in Wellsboro’s 67-18 win over Wyalusing. Lizzie Poirier scored 15 and Emma Poirier had 12.

Canton narrowly defeated North Penn-Mansfield, 46-41. Elle Binford led Canton scoring with 15 points. Jaime Palmer, Shae Berguson and Hannah Bowens all scored eight for Mansfield.

North Penn-Liberty fell to Northeast Bradford, 79-33. Eva Rice scored a team-high 10 points for Liberty, Taylor Thompson had eight.

• Connor Watkins had a double-double to help Loyalsock defeat Mifflinburg, 73-64, in boys basketball.

Watkins had 22 points and a team-high 16 rebounds. Bam Brima had 12 rebounds. Loyalsock also had a 14-point effort from Anthony Pastore. Mitchell Klingerman added 13.

Montoursville fell to Danville, 56-42. Austin Loe led the Warriors with 16 points, Owen Kiess and Dylan Bower each scored 11.

Taylor Mason recorded a double-double in Hughesville’s 71-26 win over South Williamsport. Mason led the Spartans with 24 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocks. Logan Woolcock had 10 points, Devon Braden scored four points and eight rebounds. Pete Sinibaldi led South scoring with nine points.
