Local roundup: Shore boys fall to Bellefonte

Nate Ewing (17), Junior Armstrong (12), Cody Stetts (11) and Jay Dincher (10) all scored in double-figures, but Jersey Shore fell to Bellefonte, 56-53, Monday night in boys basketball.

Tony Manzano led Milton with 13 points but it fell to Selinsgrove, 53-41. Milton outscored the Seals by five in the first quarter.

Jaiden Lynch (11 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals) and Noah Persun (9 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals) each scored 17 points and St. John Neumann outscored North Penn-Mansfield, 34-9 in the middle two quarters as the Knights won, 67-38. Dylan Meyer led NP-M with 12 points.

Mitchell Klingerman scored a team-high 15 points and Gerald Ross and Connor Watkins each scored 10 as Loyalsock defeated Mifflinburg, 62-57.

Nate Dreher (17), Coleman Witherite (13) and Nick Shedleski (11) combined for 41 points but Central Columbia’s Dominick Coombe scored 46 points in the Bluejays 73-61 win.

North Penn-Liberty outscored Towanda, 24-17 in the first half and it proved to be enough in its 50-47 win. Brandyn Choplosky led the Mounties with 14 points and Logan Horsley added 12.

Warrior Run jumped out to a 16-2 first-quarter lead en route to a 65-37 win over Midd-West. Gage Anzulavich led the Defenders with 11 points, six rebounds and six assists and Cassidy Hoffman added four points and seven assists.

• In girls basketball, Hughesville outscored Southern Columbia by 11 in the fourth quarter and the Spartans came away with the 39-35 win. Kendra Smith and Jade Cordrey led Hughesville with nine points apiece.

Tory Self scored a game-high 26 points and Wellsboro outscored Montoursville 30-16 in the second half en route to a 56-37 win. Emma Poirier added 13 for Wellsboro while Shelby Kurtz led Montoursville with 11.

Riley Fry scored a team-high 14 points but Montgomery fell to Midd-West, 50-30.

Amaya Walker scored a game-high 22 points and Brynn Williams added 13 as Cowan­esque Valley defeated Towanda, 52-39.

Hannah Kauffman scored 22 points and Jersey Shore pulled away from Bald Eagle Area in the fourth quarter on the road, 45-39.
