Local roundup: Thomas, Foulland lead Bison

Zach Thomas scored 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, Nana Foulland had 20 points, 11 boards and three blocks, and Bucknell beat Lafayette 80-75 in overtime on Monday night.

Stephen Brown reached 1,000 career points on a tiebreaking 3-pointer late in overtime to become the 42nd player in program history to reach the mark. Lafayette didnát make a field goal in OT and Bucknell guard Jimmy Sotos sealed it at the line with nine seconds left.

Matt Tamanosky scored a game-high 21 points for Mansfield, but Millersville held on to win a close one, 70-67. Tamanosky went 10-for-13 from the floor and hit a free throw to lead Mansfield offensively.

Amir Hinton scored a school-record 47 points, but his remarkable individual effort wasn’t enough to as Lock Haven was edged by host California (Pa.) 97-94, after leading by 21 at the half. Matt Cerruti, the reigning PSAC East Fresh­man of the Week, added 13 points and Tarojae Brake chipped in with 10.

• In women’s basketball, Bucknell used hot shooting to defeat Lafayette, 83-53, at Sojka Pavilion. The Bison set a program record by making 14 of their 25 3-point field-goal attempts and Abby Kapp, Ally Johnson and Ellie Mack all set career highs in scoring off the bench.

Ahnera Parker led the way for the Bald Eagles, matching her career-high with 18 points, but Lock Haven fell to No. 10 California (Pa.), 79-46.

Penn College dropped a 72-32 decision to Miseri­cordia as the Wildcats fell to 1-10. Tori Wolfe scored a team-high 13 points for Penn College, on 5-of-13 shooting and grabbed a team-best eight rebounds.

Alyssa Mullins dropped 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead Mansfield past Millersville, 60-54. Mullins connected on 5-of-11 shots from the floor and grabbed ten boards for her fourth double-double of the season.

• In boys basketball, Gage Anzulavich had 18 points and 16 rebounds but Warrior Run was outscored 14-6 in the third quarter as it fell to Southern Colum­bia, 59-52. Luke Burrows added 10 points and four re­bounds for the Defenders.

• In girls basketball, Emy­­lee Yusko scored a game-high 16 points but it wasn’t enough as Williamson fell to Addison, 35-30.

Katelyn Pagano scored a game-high 18 points and Makaya Shadle (nine points, nine rebounds, eight assists, eight steals) recorded a near quadraple-double as Galeton defeated Os­wayo Valley, 55-49. Gale­ton outscored Oswayo Val­ley, 32-24 in the second half.

Hughesville was outscored 21-11 in the first half as it fell to Mifflinburg, 38-28. Kendra Smith and Alisha McKinley each scored 10 for the Spartans.

Sullivan County out­scored Jersey Shore 40-20 in the second half as the Griffins ran away with a 58-42 win. Mykenzie Mala­cusky scored a team-high 20 points while Jessica King added 15 for the Griffins. Hannah Kauff­man scored a game-high 25 points to lead the Bulldogs.

Tori Self led Wellsboro with 18 points and Rachael Tuttle and Dani Hunt each added 17 as the Green Hornets defeated Towanda, 69-34. Emma Poirier added 12 as Wellsboro outscored Towanda in the first half, 46-17.

Makenna Snyder scored 11 points with 11 rebounds in Muncy’s 51-48 win over Milton. Kaylin Scott scored 28 in defeat.
