Golf tip of the week: Make sure to add some spring to your swing

PHOTO PROVIDED The legs should be flexed and springy.

High handicap golfers are afraid to relax their legs. If the leg muscles are rigid, the knees can’t be active during the swing.

The legs should feel relaxed and springy, similar to getting ready to jump over something. In fact, the entire body must be supple enough to move the body weight back and through the hitting area without swaying.

The knees should push toward each other just enough to feel pressure on the insteps of both feet, while the leg muscles remain soft.

Don’t forget to enjoy this great game called golf.
