Lyco’s Wallace, Newbold earn honors

Finishing their careers as the first pair of classmates in program history to accumulate 1,000 career points and 500 career rebounds, Lycoming College men’s basketball seniors Chris Wallace and Alex Newbold were both honored as part of the All-MAC Commonwealth teams. Wallace was a first-team all-conference selection and Newbold was named to the second team.

The honor is Newbold’s first and Wallace’s second after earning second-team honors last season. The duo finishes their career as the all-time winningest senior class in program history with 80 wins, while winning two MAC Commonwealth titles.

Wallace finishes his career ranked 18th in points (1,233), 10th in rebounds (646), tied for fourth in steals (172) and fifth in blocks (93). Newbold’s 1,080 career point’s rank 29th in program history, his 549 rebounds are 20th and his 172 steals are tied with Wallace for fourth.
