CM has 3 move out of quarters at Northwest Regional

At the Northwest Class AAA regional tournament at Altoona on Friday, three local wrestlers advanced out of the quarterfinals into today’s semifinals: Central Mountain’s Johnny Shreffler (113 pounds), Logan Long (145) and Jacob Edwards (220)

Edwards pinned Williamsport’s Ethan Williamson at 220 pounds, winning in 1:04. At 113, Shreffler won by decision in the quarterfinals to advance and Long won by pinfall in 1:34.

In the team standings, Central Mountain is currently second with 47.5 points, behind only Cathedral Prep (55). Williamsport is not in the Top 10.

Williamsport’s Izek Brooks was pinned at 138 pounds in 5:39 in the quarterfinals and the Millionaires’ Anthony Robinson was pinned at 145 in 5:03.

The Northwest Class AAA tournament resumes this morning at Altoona.
