Slagus leads Bison in regular-season finale

Kaitlyn Slagus scored 25 points and nearly had a double-double with a team-high nine rebounds, eight of which were defensive, as Bucknell earned a win over Army, 75-55, on Wednesday on the road in the two teams regular-season finales before the Patriot League tournament begins.

Bucknell held Army to 10 points in each of the first two quarters to take a 13-point lead into halftime.

Bucknell also received 11 points from Kyi English and Kate Walker was just shy of a double-double, scoring seven points and grabbing eight rebounds.

Army only had one player in double figures, led by Janae McNeal’s 14 points.

Bucknell jumped out to an eight-point lead after the first quarter and outscored Army in each quarter.

The win improves the Bison to 21-8 overall and 15-3 in the league. Army is 16-13 and 9-9. The Patriot League quarterfinals begin on Monday.
