Five Lycoming players earn Academic All-MAC honors

A pair of Lycoming basketball players, two Lycoming swimmers and a wrestler were honored by being named to the Academic All-MAC team, the conference office announced on Tuesday.

Lycoming men’s basketball player Chris Wallace, women’s basketball player Shelby Mueller, swimmers Emilie Kramer and Andrew Chase and wrestler Brandon Conrad all were named to the academic team.

In his senior season, Wallace led the team in scoring (14.0), rebounding (6.3), steals (2.0), blocks (1.4) and double-doubles (four) and was named first team All-MAC Commonwealth.

Wallace finished his career ranked 18th in points (1,233), 10th in rebounds (646), tied for fourth in steals (172) and fifth in blocks (93). His 10 career double-doubles rank 10th in program history.

Mueller was the first Warrior since 1994-95 to average a double-double, posting 15.0 points and 10.1 rebounds per game as a senior, starting all 25 games for the team and leading the conference in scoring and finishing second in rebounding. She also led the conference in free throw percentage (.851) and finished fourth in field goal percentage (.479). She was also key defensively, finishing fifth in the league in blocked shots (1.3) and 10th in steals (1.6).

Wellsboro grad Kramer earned Academic All-MAC for the second time in her career and is just the second swimmer in program history to earn the honor twice, joinng Alexia Follweiler. Kramer was named honorable mention All-MAC in the 100 breast after placing third with the second-fastest time in program history and also broke a 15-year program record in the 200 IM at the MAC championships.

Chase competed in the free and butterfly events in his career and placed 42nd in the 500-yard free at the MAC Championships and swam a personal best 19:45.14 in the 1,650-free.

Conrad joined Nolan Barger as the only three-time Academic All-MAC wrestlers in program history. On the same day he earned the Academic All-MAC honor, he became the first three-time Academic All-American as well. Conrad was 31-7 his senior year at 174 pounds and finished second at the NCAA Southeast Regional to qualify for the Division III Championships for the first time.
