For the first time since 2014, the Lycoming College volleyball team has earned the American Volleyball Coaches’ Association Team Academic Award, the association announced on Monday.

The award, which was initiated in 1992-93, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale or a 4.10 cumulative team GPA on a 5.0 scale.

The Warriors were paced in the classroom by eight players who earned MAC Academic Honor Roll honors in 2017-18 in freshman Molly Ball, sophomore Lindsay Beck, senior Catherine Burger, junior Emily Hepner, junior Taylor Johnsonbaugh, freshman Emily Konopka, sophomore Anslee Walk and sophomore Darci Warriner, a Wellsboro grad.
