West End’s early 8-run lead holds up in 13-year-old win

West End jumped out to a huge eight-run lead in the first inning and held on en route to a 13-8 win over Keystone in the Babe Ruth 13-year-old baseball tournament on Friday at Keystone.

James Batkowski led West End by going 2 for 3 with a double and three runs scored. Eli Eberhart had a double and Joey Signor had a team-high three RBIs. Griffin Vollman was walked five times.

West End advances and will play Mifflin County today at 11 a.m. while Keystone willplay Altoona at 2 p.m.
