Bucknell gets its offense rolling in victory over Niagara
LEWISBURG – Bucknell sophomore Jenna Marek got the Bucknell offense going with a tally just over 10 minutes into her first career start, and three more Bison found the back of the net in a 4-1 victory over Niagara at Emmitt Field on Sunday afternoon. After opening the season with a 1-0 loss to Hofstra on Friday, the Bison improved to 1-1 on the season, while the Purple Eagles dropped to 0-1.
Bailey Hurst doubled Bucknell’s lead in the 24th minute, and freshmen Claire Mensi and Emilene Parham opened their collegiate accounts in the second half to send Bucknell out to a 4-0 lead. Ashley LoFranco spoiled Theresa Adu-Attobrah’s shutout bid with Niagara’s lone goal with just 2:54 remaining in the contest.
