Cutters split series at Batavia with loss

BATAVIA, N.Y. — The Batavia Muckdogs put up four runs in the bottom of the second inning to hang on for a 4-2 win over the Williamsport Crosscutters on Saturday night.

Batavia used two singles and a bases loaded walk to score the four runs in the bottom of the second after Ben Pelletier’s solo homer in the top half of the inning gave Williamsport a 1-0 lead.

In the top of the fifth, Williamsport cut into the lead on a single by Ben Aklinski that scored Jesse Wilkening.

Williamsport starter Ben Brown (0-1) took the loss.

Wilkening doubled and singled twice for the Crosscutters.
