Lock Haven upsets ESU

A 20-yard field goal by Austyn Carson with 2:56 remaining helped give Lock Haven a 10-point lead against East Stroudsburg and despite a late touchdown by ESU, the lead held up and gave Lock Haven a 44-41 upset win against the Warriors on Saturday at East Stroudsburg.

An 84-yard punt return by Nysir Minney-Gratz with 3:09 to play in the third quarter tied the game up at 27 before Lock Haven took a lead early in the fourth quarter thanks to a 7-yard score by Bryan Greene on a pass from Cameron Tobias to go up, 33-27.

Tobias struck again, hitting Minney-Gratz on a 24-yard pass to put the Bald Eagles ahead, 41-27, with 14:08 to play before ESU cut the deficit down to seven with a 10-yard pass from Jake Cirillo to Anthony Guarino.

Tobias went 18 for 27 for 243 yards and two TDs and running back Chantz Swartz had 120 rushing yards and two TDs for LHU.
