Muncy wins its own field hockey tournament

In girls field hockey, Muncy opened its home tournament on Saturday with a 3-1 win over Southern Huntingdon. Muncy freshman Hallie McClure scored with an assist from sophomore Lily Moyer in the first half and added another goal with an assist from Ariana Copeland and Mackenzie Markle.

Moyer clinched the win with an assist from McClure to end the first game of the day and send the Indians to the title game.

In the championship game, Muncy turned on their offensive drive with a final score of 6-1 for a first-place finish over Danville. Moyer recorded three goals with two assisted by Marquesa Staib. Moyer earned All-Tournament MVP honors and McClure (offense) and Fiester (defense) were also named to the All-Tournament team.
