Lycoming, Penn College cap wrestling regular season with wins

Joe Santomarco picked up a decision at 149 pounds to finalize a 51-3 win over Keystone College on Sunday. The Warriors (14-4 overall) benefitted from eight forfeits in the dual meet. Santomarco notched an 8-1 win over Colby Bronzburg.

• Penn College went 1-2 at the Tigers Duals hosted by Rochester Institute of Technology Sunday. The Wildcats end its dual meet season with a program-record 12 wins in the NCAA era. The Wildcats beat Alfred State, 50-6, and fell to Oneonta, 42-11, and RIT, 38-9. Penn College rattled off nine consecutive wins against Alfred State after forfitting 125 pounds. Wyalusing grad, Dylan Otis went 2-1 with a 3-1 decision over No. 10 ranked Connor Calkins from RIT.

• Drew Phipps upset No. 4 Rocco Caywood, as Bucknell fell to Army, 22-19. Phipps stunned Caywood by a 7-3 decision. It was his second career victory over a nationally ranked wrestler and his first at 197 pounds. David Campbell (133) and Matthew Kolonia (149) each pinned his opponent. Campbell’s pin of Lane Peters, which came at the 4:28 mark, was the first of his collegiate career.

• In men’s basketball, Penn College overcame a five-point halftime deficit to knock off Cazenovia, 93-91.

• In women’s basketball Penn College rallied from a 10-point halftime deficit to tie the game and the end of regulation, but fell short in a 90-81 overtime loss against Cazenovia.

• Bucknell off to a good start in men’s lacrosse with a 9-6 win over Bryant. Will Yorke netted a career-high five goals during the second half, and Christian Klipstein made 13 saves, to lift the Bison from a 3-3 halftime tie. Reed Malas and Matthew Barkauskas added two goals apiece, with Barkauskas’s first coming just 25 seconds into the game. Ryan Durkin and Matt Fedorjaka each notched two assists.
