Local roundup: Webb, Maciejewski help lift Hughesville baseball to a victory

In high school baseball, Chance Webb and Devin Maciejewski combined on a five-inning, no-hitter and Hughesville scored 10 runs in the bottom of the third inning to take an 11-0 win over East Juniata. Devin Swank, Jaret Stroup, Dylan Pequignot, Ian Gagliano and Clayton Poust each had two RBIs to lead a Hughesville offense that belted 10 hits.

Logan Tokarz threw a one-hit complete game as North Penn-Mansfield defeated Wyalusing, 10-0. Dylan Williamson went 2 for 2 and hit a walk-off, three-run home run in the fifth inning.

Parker Brewster hit a triple and Brandyn Choplosky had two RBIs.

• In high school softball, Rory Oden threw a complete-game, one-hitter and Annabelle Bergey, Jen Frederick, Leia Eisenhower and Lauren Harner-Steeler each had two hits as Muncy defeated East Juniata, 14-4.

North Penn-Liberty fell to Wyalusing, 7-1. Savannah Doney went 2 for 3 with a double and a RBI. Jess Kouba, Mariah Kshir and Sara Swingle each had a hit. Hailey Jayne went 4 for 4 with a double and a RBI. Laci Norton, Madalyn Valoroso and Emily Champluvier each had two hits.

Galeton defeated Cameron County, 10-4, Monday night. Jessie Evans, Maddie Sauley and Cara Parsell each had two hits. Parsell added two RBIs and Katie Kulish had a run and a RBI.

•In women’s track and field, Lock Haven’s Karina Long has been selected to compete in the long jump at the 2019 NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Long’s season-best and school-record jump of 19-07.50 has her ranked No. 11 entering the championships. The women’s long jump is scheduled for Thursday, May 23 at 4 p.m.
