Lycoming announces its 2019 football incoming class

After reaching the postseason for the first time in 11 years in 2018, the Lycoming College football team will look to continue to build with an incoming recruiting class that features six all-state selections and 40 members, 12th-year coach Mike Clark announced.

The Warriors welcome four all-state players on defense, led by two-time selection defensive lineman David Tomb of Jersey Shore and defensive end Zac Cost. Austin Rowley also joins the team after earning all-state accolades as a senior after leading the state with 158 tackles, which also ranked seventh in the country, and Nathan Reedy was a second-team all-state pick as a junior.

On the offensive side, Montgomery running back Hunter Budman will join the Warrior backfield after earning all-state honors as a returner as a senior. From New Jersey, tight end Matt Jaeger earned third-team All-Group 4 honors as a defender. Honorable mention all-state quarterback Dylan Paul also joins the team from Indiana.

Kicker Cameron Griffin of Jersey Shore also earned all-state accolades.

In total, the incoming class features eight offensive linemen, five wide receivers, four running backs, two fullbacks, two tight ends and one quarterback. On the defensive side, the team welcomes 11 linemen, three defensive backs and five linebackers. A punter and a kicker are also included in the mix.

The Warriors finished 5-6 overall and 4-4 in the MAC, finishing fourth, to earn a berth in the Centennial-MAC Bowl series under Coach Mike Clark. The team opens the 2019 season Saturday, September 7, when they head to Susquehanna University for a non-conference game at Amos Alonzo Stagg Field.
