Cutters beat Spikes in 10th

STATE COLLEGE – The Crosscutters scored five runs — including two in the tenth inning — over the final four innings to rally back to beat the State College Spikes, 5-4, in extras Saturday.

With one out, Logan O’Hoppe doubled to center that brought in Corbin Williams and Bryson Stott for the two-run lead in the tenth.

Williamsport held a 5-3 lead going to the bottom of the tenth inning before State College scored one when David Vinsky scored on a ground out to first by Carlos Sotos.

State College had a runner on third with two outs, but couldn’t bring him in.

The Cutters scored a run in the seventh, eighth and ninth to tie the game, 3-3. State College opened the game with a run in the bottom of the first and then scored twice in the second to take a 3-0 lead into the third inning.

Juan Aparicio led the Cutters by going 3 for 4 with a double. Stott hit a triple and O’Hoppe had the team’s other double.
