In girls tennis, Hughesville swept both doubles matches and Lydia Barbour earned a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles to lift Hughesville to a 3-2 opening-season win over Montoursville.

Katie Savidge earned Loyalsock’s lone win with a 6-1, injury default decision at No. 1 singles, but Loyalsock fell to Danville, 4-1.

Emilee Stetts and Gabby Bellomo picked up the deciding point with a 6-0, 7-6 (7-5) win at No. 2 doubles to lead Jersey Shore to a 3-2 win over Selinsgrove. Natalie Charnego (No. 1 singles) and Miranda Schneider (No. 3 singles) earned Jersey Shore’s other two wins.

South Williamsport took all three singles matches with wins by Olivia Dorner (No. 1), Lily Summerson (No. 2) and Lauren Peck (No. 3) as it topped Bloomsburg, 4-1.

Lewisburg struggled in its season-opener with a 5-0 defeat to Central Columbia.
