Death of man after Pittsburgh Steelers game investigated

BALDWIN, Pa. (AP) — Authorities in western Pennsylvania are investigating the death of a Pittsburgh-area man after some kind of incident following the Pittsburgh Steelers game.

Pittsburgh police said detectives started investigating after Allegheny County police informed them of the Baldwin Borough resident’s death.

Police said preliminary information indicates that the man was leaving Heinz Field on Sunday after the game when “there was an incident in which he sustained a head injury.”

The county medical examiner’s office said 44-year-old William Laughlin was pronounced dead shortly after 6:30 a.m. Monday at his home.

The cause and manner of death are still under investigation. Police haven’t released any other information about the incident that led to the injury.
