Crosscutters fall on the road in State College to Spikes, 10-1

The Williamsport Crosscutters lost their second consecutive game to the State College Spikes, falling on the road, 10-1, Thursday.

The two teams were tied after the second inning before State College started pulling away by scoring five runs between the fourth and sixth innings. State College scored three in the bottom of the sixth to make it a 6-1 lead and added four in the bottom of the eighth.

The Spikes’ Jared Kengott, Payton Rice and Blake Seigler combined to allow just four hits.

Williamsport was led by Hogan McIntosh, who went 2 for 4. Damone Hale went 1 for 4 with an RBI and Isaac Nunez was 1 for 1 with a double and run scored.

State College had two players with multiple hits in Myles Austin (2 for 4, two RBIs, run, walk) and Mark Vierling (2 for 5, two RBIs). Tyler Heckert went 1 for 2 with two RBIs and a run scored, Brady Brecklin scored twice and was walked and Jack Surin added a single.

Michael Slaten had a home run for State College.
