Williamsport Crosscutters beat State College on Saturday 10-4 at Bowman Field

The Williamsport Crosscutters used a four-run seventh inning to pull away from the State College Spikes en route to a 10-4 win at Bowman Field on Saturday night.

The Crosscutters jumped out to a 3-0 lead after two innings before State College scored twice in the top of the fourth to make it a 3-1 deficit. Williamsport then scored three in the bottom of the inning for a 6-2 lead. Those three runs were thanks to a double by Ramon Bramsco to drive in Freddie Matos, and a single by Isaac Nunez to bring in Alec Burns.

Both teams had 10 hits apiece.

Nunez had an outstanding performance, going 4 for 4 with an RBI and run scored.

Bramasco went 2 for 5 with a double, three RBIs and two runs scored. Matos went 2 for 4 with a triple, RBI and scored three runs. Burns was walked three times.

Williamsport also had a double come from Lance Logsdon.

Only two State College players had multiple hits as Luke Seidel went 3 for with an RBI and run scored and Zacchaeus Rasberry was 2 for 4 with a double, RBI and run scored.

Max Loven threw five innings for Williamsport and struck out five with two walks issued to earn the win. D. Peiffer came in as a reliver and struck out five over two innings of work.

The Crosscutters wrap up a series with State College on Sunday afternoon at Bowman Field (5:05 p.m.) before hosting Mahoning Valley for a three-game series on Tuesday through Thursday.

Williamsport then travels to State College for a three-game series Friday through Sunday.
