Williamsport Crosscutters tie State College 8-8 on Sunday at Bowman Field

The Williamsport Crosscutters and State College Spikes drew to an 8-8 tie at Bowman Field on Sunday night in an MLB Draft League contest. With the tie, the Crosscutters took the series over the State College Spikes, 2-0-1, and clinched the 2021 Saw Buck Series.

Williamsport is off Monday before hosting Mahoning Valley for a three-game homestand at Bowman Field beginning Tuesday.

State College held a 5-0 lead in the top of the sixth inning before Williamsport had four straight innings of two runs each. State College led, 8-6, heading into the bottom of the ninth inning before the Crosscutters scored twice.

Lance Logsdon led Williamsport at the plate, going 3 for 5 and Trey Steffler went 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a run scored. Williamsport had eight hits in the win. Only one player had an extra-base hit, which came from Steffler, who had a double.

Isaac Nunez, Alec BUrns and Tito Fuentes III also all had a single.

State College was led by botoh Brady Brecklin (2 for 4, two RBIs, run) and Harrison Engstrom (2 for 5, double, run). State College also had a home run from Marques Paige.
