Lewisburg football earns 1st win by beating Midd-West
Ethan Dominick accounted for three first-quarter touchdowns and the Green Dragons led 22-0 after the first quarter and kept the pressure on. Cam Michaels had two second-quarter touchdowns — a 27-yard TD pass and a 55-yard punt return — as the Green Dragons took a 41-0 lead into the half.
Midd-West was held to just 102 yards of total offense. Jeremiah Davis led Lewisburg’s ground game with 66 yards and a TD and Wade Young threw for 192 yards and three touchdowns. Lewisburg held a 295-102 yards advantage.
After Dominick’s three first-quarter touchdowns put Lewisburg ahead, 22-0, Michaels caught his 27-yard TD pass for a 28-0 lead. Charles Landis then reeled in a 12-yard TD pass from Young with 5:04 to play until halftime to build the lead to 34-0. Michaels returned the punt for a touchdown with 2:52 to go up, 41-0.
Midd-West scored with 6:08 to play in the third quarter when Christian Regester had an 8-yard TD strike to Corey Reinhard, but 41-6 would be the closest the Mustangs would make it.
Just 14 seconds later, Owen Ordonez returned the kickoff 61 yards to build the lead up to 48-6. Zander Walter then scored late in the third quarter for Lewisburg from a yard out to increase the Green Dragons’ lead to 55-6. Lewisburg’s final score came with 7:06 to play when Davis broke a 53-yard run.
No Midd-West running back had more than 23 rushing yards and Regester was held to just 33 passing yards as he threw two interceptions.
