South Williamsport graduates observe 55 years of love
Jean D. and Scott N. Lowery celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary Aug. 21. They were married Aug. 21, 1964, by Rev. Frederick Hasskarl at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church.
Jean is a graduate of South Williamsport High School and is employed by Timeless Interiors & Furniture. She is an active member of “That Group,” the South Williamsport Mummers Association and the Christ Episcopal Church Auxiliary.
Scott also is a graduate of South Williamsport High School where he was honored as an inaugural member of the school’s Hall of Fame, and the University of Houston. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired as the executive director of the Lycoming County United Way in 2017. Professionally he also served as the central regional director for Little League Baseball, Inc. and as a public relations manager for Grit Publishing Group. He remains active as an assistant basketball coach at South Williamsport, a columnist for Webb Weekly and for the past 19 years has been a member of the I Heart Media Little League Baseball World Series broadcast team.
They are the parents of two children, Denise Foster, of Camp Hill, and Douglas, of Newville. They have five grandchildren.
