South Williamsport couple honor diamond anniversary
Raymond and Jean Bodewes, of South Williamsport, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Jan. 23. They were married by Rev. Gerald Hughes at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Jersey Shore. They have been members of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Williamsport, for 58 years.
The former Jean Louise Miller, of Jersey Shore, is the daughter of the late Lee and Madelyn Miller. She graduated from Jersey Shore High School in 1955. She retired from Stroehmann’s Williamsport sales department after 34 years on June 30, 1995.
Raymond, formerly of Elmira, New York, is the fostered son of the late Anthony and Nicholina Notartomaso. He graduated from Elmira Free Academy in Elimira, New York, in 1951 and attended Williamsport Technical Institute in 1958. He was in the U.S. Air Force from 1952 to 1956. He was employed at Stroehmann Bakeries from 1961 to 1971 and Shop-Vac from 1971 to 1998.
They are the parents of four daughters, Joan Moore, of Boulder, Colorado, Rebecca Knight, Carolyn Mullen and Mary DiBernardo, all of Williamsport; and three sons, Timothy Bodewes, of Williamsport, Michael Bodewes, of Kulpmont, and John Bodewes, of Montoursville. They have 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
