Lycoming College class of 2020 to host SPCA adoption fair

The Lycoming College Class of 2020 will host an on-campus adoption fair, with the Lycoming County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals from 1-3 p.m. April 1 outside of the Clarke Chapel and Keiper Recreation Center at the college. If there’s rain, the event will be moved to the Pennington Lounge.

The event also will feature college clubs selling goodies or hosting family-friendly activities.

Jersey Shore Historical Society to hold a walking mystery tour

The Jersey Shore Historical Society and Jersey Shore Recreation Committee will hold a walking mystery tour of downtown Jersey Shore from 7-8 p.m. April 1. The group will meet at the Main Street gazebo at 7 p.m.

The tour will include real stories ripped from the headlines of newspapers about people who lived there more than 100 years ago.

Lou Bernard, a Lock Haven Express columnist and paranormal investigator, will discuss the events that took place in Jersey Shore’s past.

Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority to hold Easter egg hunt

LEWISBURG — The Buffalo Valley Recreation Authority will hold an Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 1 at the West Fields across from the Lewisburg Area Recreation Park. Children are invited to hunt for more than 5,000 eggs. Most will be filled with candy and some will be filled with mystery prizes in each age category.

The grounds will be sectioned off into age-appropriate groups so children ages 3-13 will have the opportunity to participate. Each group will have 1,500 eggs to find and put in their Easter egg baskets. Children must bring their own baskets.

Children ages 3 and 4 will hunt from 11-11:15 a.m., ages 5 and 6 from 11:20-11:35 a.m., ages 7-9 from 11:40-11:55 a.m. and ages 10-13 from noon to 12:15 p.m.

The event also will feature an appearance by the Easter Bunny. Children of all ages will have the opportunity to take their picture with him.
