Mr., Mrs. Pauling observe 50th anniversary


Eleanor (Holmes) and James Pauling, of Montgomery, will observe their 50th wedding anniversary on July 27, 2018.

They were married by Dr. J. Wesley Rafter in Binghamton, New York.

They are members of First Baptist Church of Elimsport, Allenwood.

Mrs. Pauling, a native of Binghamton, New York, is the daughter of the late Dorothy and William Holmes. She attended Binghamton Central High School, Binghamton, New York, and Columbia International University, formerly Columbia Bible College, Columbia, South Carolina. She worked at Child Evangelism Fellowship of Lycoming County from 1966-70 as director, and at Watsontown Christian Academy in 1985-1995 as a substitute teacher. She is retired.

Mr. Pauling, a native of Allenwood, is the son of the late Betty and Robert Pauling. He attended Montgomery Area High School and Penn State University, State College. He was in the Army from 1964-1966. He retired from Pennsylvania Power & Light from 1966-2004 as a business and service consultant.

They have three sons, William, of Avon, Connecticut; Brian, of New London, New Hampshire; and Philip, of Warrenton, Virginia.

There are nine grandchildren.

In honor of their anniversary, a celebration will be held by family on in Avon, Connecticut.
