Facebook marketing program scheduled at JVB

The James V. Brown Library, 19 E. Fourth St., will host the program, “Facebook Marketing for Business,” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Presenter Jerry Frear will show participants how to set up a Facebook account exclusively for business use and build your page in a way that promotes your brand. Frear, a digital marketing consultant, will identify winning strategies for building and maintaining a thriving community of Facebook fans.

This course includes detailed information on creating ads and shows how to use Facebook Insights to track your reach, page visits and even the performance of your competitors.

Topics include:

• Planning your page.

• Engaging your community with status updates, photos and videos.

• Creating events and scheduling posts.

• Pinning and embedding posts.

• Moderating comments on your page.

• Creating advertisements and using Ad Manager.

• Using Insights to track likes, post reach, page visits and more.

• Adding page administrators.

Frear has been involved with the Internet since the early 1990s. His knowledge includes a firm understanding of new technology and how it relates to the current marketing realities for companies both large and small.

He helped pioneer the first database-driven websites and template-driven systems in the late 1990s. His experience includes working as an account representative and managing a company’s online media plan. He currently manages online and new media advertising for more than 500 small business clients. He has developed his own system for Search Engine Optimization and specializes in creating new products that use online technologies to market businesses.
